Membership = 500. Membership in the Bulgarian Psychological Society is open to every individual who is actively participating in scientific and applied work in psychology as well as in teaching psychology. In every city/town that has more than ten psychologists, a branch of the Bulgarian Psychological Society may be organized. Sections in different branches of psychology may be formed also.

The Bulgarian Psychological Society was founded in 1969 to unite all psychologists in the country for the advancement of all branches of psychology and for creating favorable conditions for the scientific and applied work of its members. The activities of the association embrace a national congress, conferences, seminars, round-table discussions, etc. A scientific journal Psychologia is published by the Bulgarian Psychological Society.
