Membership categories and qualifications for the Czech-Moravian Psychological Society are as follows:
- ordinary member (fellow) - a person who accomplished full university study (at least up to the level of the M.A. degree)
- extraordinary member - a person with other qualification, including pregradual students of psychology
The Czech-Moravian Psychological Society is registered as a voluntary civic organization and it associates psychologists of the Czech Republic on the principle of choice. By its scientific activities the Society enhances the development of psychology as a field and as a profession and it contributes to the increase of he members' scientific level and the knowledge of those who are interested in the field. It comments on the scientific level of psychological journals and publications and watches over the application of ethical principles in psychological practice (Code of Ethics).
The Society represents its member during negotiations with institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad and it expresses its opinion on questions of general interest. Its main spheres of activity:
- Obtaining and publishing information concerning psychological community and their distributing amongst the members and other interested parties within the framework of information and counseling service.
- The independent scientific activity of various section, which organize lectures, workshops, courses and training In 2007, for example, the section for intercultural psychology was founded. Four times a year, the Society publishes 1700 copies of its own bulletin, that serves as an overview of various psychological projects contributing to the further education and mutual exchange of ideas among psychologists and the broader public. It helps psychologists to express their opinion concerning the outstanding questions of both their field and public life.
