The objectives of the Dansk Psykolog Forening are:
- to provide for the economical and professional interests of the members
- to increase the general public interest in psychology as a science and the understanding of its significance
- to improve the conditions for psychological research and practical psychological work
- to develop the education of psychologist at a level consistent with the development of modern psychological science.
The condition for membership in the Dansk Psykolog Forening (7,900 members, including 1,000 students in 2008) is a university degree in psychology from a Danish university or a psychological pedagogical degree from the Royal Danish School of Educational Studies. Psychologists with degrees in psychology from other universities may apply for membership.
