The Union of Estonian Psychologists (80 members) is a voluntary organization for professional psychologists and it associates Estonian psychologists. Members of the Union of Estonian Psychologists may be persons who are practicing applied or scientific psychology and who have, as a rule, university qualification in psychology or a scientific degree in psychology, or who are promoting with their activity the development of Estonian psychology. The objectives of the Union of Estonian Psychologists are to provide for a high professional level of Estonian psychology; advanced psychological science in Estonia and its effective application in practice; psychological welfare of Estonian people; security of Estonian psychologists; extended exchange of information and contacts between psychologists of Estonia and other countries.

The tasks of the Union of Estonian Psychologists are to raise the quality of education of professional psychologists in Estonia, to support the professional rights of psychologists in developing their professional activity, to develop the professional ethics of psychologists, to help in carrying out psychological research and in applying the results in Estonia, and to act as an expert in important issues of social and cultural life. The Union of Estonian Psychologists has the right to open and close accounts and execute financial operations, form temporary working groups for carrying out scientific projects and finance their activity, control the justified and adequate use of psychological instruments, certify and licentiate their users, organize scientific conferences and seminars, and publish psychological and periodical publications. From the very beginning the Union of Estonian Psychologists has edited a newsletter and its own publication Rakenduspsühholoogia. The Union of Estonian Psychologists has arranged courses and conferences for members and other psychologists, has supported research projects, and during recent years had organized Days of Psychology annually.
