About (from the web) (French)
New members of the Société Française de Psychologie (800 members) must have at least five years of higher education in psychology. The society was founded in 1901 "to promote publications and to provide financial support for research." Since this time, the society has also become a professional society open to practitioners of psychology, while maintaining its scientific orientation. The society revised its statutes in 1991. It now comprises three departments: one for research, one for applications, and one for affiliated organizations. Furthermore, the society subsumes eight regional branches in the country. The society organizes an annual conference, thematic scientific meetings, and interdisciplinary symposia. The society publishes two journals, Psychologie Française (four issues per year) and Pratiques Psychologiques(four issues per year), as well as a newsletter La Lettre de la SFP (four issues per year).
