All psychologists, academics or professionals, can be members of the Societa Italiana di Psicologia. The renewed 1992 Statute identifies the Societa Italiana di Psicologia as a scientific-professional association promoting psychology and its applications in an evolving human society. Its organs are the General Assembly, the President, the Directive Council, and the Council of the Presidents of affiliated associations.
SIPs current activity consists in facilitating contacts among members, also through the publication of a newsletter (SIPS News), and in promoting a variety of cultural activities in connection with psychological topics. Triennial conventions are held, plus many thematic or local meetings and workshops every year. The official journal of the Societa Italiana di Psicologia, Psicologia Italiana, is published quarterly.
