The number of members of the Polskie Towarzystwo Psychologiczne is 8,000. Persons holding the university degree Master of Psychology are eligible for membership. Senior psychology students (equivalent to bachelor degree) and persons with higher education in other than psychology disciplines can apply for associate membership. The Polskie Towarzystwo Psychologiczne engages in the development of psychology as a profession and organizes scientific and applied congresses (every three years). The association arranges advanced workshops and thematic conferences and sessions (at irregular intervals). The Polskie Towarzystwo Psychologiczne has twenty-four regional departments, the largest ones in Warsaw and Katowice. There are also several thematic sections affiliated to PTP, as the Section of Health and Illness Psychology. They arrange advanced symposia, workshops, cooperate with international societies and edit books or special issues of psychological journals. The organs of the Polskie Towarzystwo Psychologiczne are Przeglad Psychologiczny (Psychological Review, in Polish) and Nowiny Psychologiczne (Psychological News, in Polish), both published quarterly.
