Sweden - License to Practice for Psychologists from Outside the EU |
The National Swedish Board of Health and Welfare, (Socialstyrelsen)
Basic conditions In Sweden, psychologist is a protected professional title that may be used only by those who hold a licence to practise or are taking part in prescribed practical service (PTP). Only those are allowed to be employed as psychologists in Swedish health care.
If you are a psychologist trained in another country than the EU/EEA countries, the first thing you need is good knowledge of the Swedish language. After that you have to take courses to supplement your training and go through practical service. Only when all this is completed you may receive a Swedish licence to practise.
