[From the web] The Psychological Society of Uruguay was founded in 1953 with the purpose of promoting the development of psychology as a science and profession. In order to achieve its goals, courses, conferences and annual meetings are organized at which psychologists present and discuss a wide variety of theoretical and research topics.
There are two categories of members in the Psychological Society of Uruguay. They are:
- Full members - those holding a degree in psychology, who demonstrate professional competence through significant contributions in publications, congresses and scientific meetings. Only full members have the right to vote in the assemblies and elections.At present, there are 91 full members in the Psychological Society of Uruguay.
- Affiliate members - other professionals interested in any field related to psychology.
