The functions of the Vietnam Association of Psychology & Pedagogical Sciences are distributing psychological and pedagogical knowledge to the people; promoting the using of these sciences in life; supporting the initiatives of the members for the cause to further development of these sciences; improving the quality of these sciences research and training; supporting the members to upgrade their professional knowledge and skills through workshops, seminars; advising and assessing the governmental and non-governmental at their psychological and pedagogical aspects; developing the cooperation and relationship with the IUPsyS and other international psychological organizations and the national psychological organizations.

Criteria for membership in the Vietnam Association of Psychology & Pedagogical Sciences member are holding a bachelor's degree in psychology or pedagogics or conducting work in psychological practice (hospital, street children center and so on). There are approximately 1,000 members.
