|
The Society for the Protection of Animals Liable to Vivisection, or the Victoria Street Society, was founded in England by Frances Power Cobbe, an early animal rights activist. The society adopted a militant program of prevention of cruelty to animals, especially animals used in research. The research ethics of experimental psychologists have been strongly affected by animal rights groups.
