1957 - The Human Factors Society was established

The Human Factors Society was officially established at its first national meeting and constitutional convention, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Laurence E. Morehouse was interim president of the organization until Renato Contini was elected president. In 1993, the organization's name was changed to the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
