1980 - Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics opened in Nijmegen, The Netherlands

The Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics opened in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Dutch psychologist Willem Levelt was the first director of the institute. The institute expanded in size and moved to new quarters in 1986.
