1962 - Society for Psychology of the German Democratic Republic founded

The Gesellschaft für Psychologie der DDR (Society for Psychology of the German Democratic Republic) was founded in East Germany, a little more than one year after the Berlin Wall was begun. The original membership of 54 grew to over 2,400 by 1987. The society was dissolved in 1990, when Germany was reunified.
