The council of Association for Behavior Analysis International approved the founding of the Middle East Association for Behavior Analysis (MEABA) as a regional chapter. The founding meeting of MEABA was held on May 20, 2005 in the Kingdome of Bahrain. The meeting was attended by various officials and professionals on education, psychology and parents of children with autism and related disorders.
