The First Latin American Congress of Psychology was held in São Paulo, Brazil. About 3,000 participants attended this conference, which was sponsored by the União Latino-Americana de Entidades de Psicologia [ULAPsi; Union of Latin American Psychological Entities] and hosted by the Fórum de Entidades Nacionais da Psicologia Brasileira. It is of interest to note that an earlier First Latin American Congress of Psychology was held in 1950 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
