The Asian Psychological Association (APsyA) was founded. The APsyA's mission is to advance the science and practice of psychology throughout Asia. APsyA held its first convention, from August 18 to 20, 2006, in Bali, Indonesia. Sarlito W. Sarwono of Indonesia was the first president of the APsyA.
