The American Psychological Association's Division of International Psychology established the Ursula Gielen Global Psychology Book Award to recognize a recent book that makes the greatest contribution to psychology as an international discipline and profession. The winner of the 2007 Gielen Award was James Georgas, John W. Berry, Fons J. R. van de Vijver, Çiğdem Kağitçibaşi, and Ype H. Poortinga's Families Across Cultures: A 30-Nation Psychological Study.
