Copy Parents of children with a severe illness like OPD are very often faced with the serious health condition of their child. Also, it means that you are familiar with hospitalization as mothers usually accompany children under the age of 3 years. In order to help the children, mothers, and the entire family system, we created regular twice a week sessions (one and a half hours each) for mothers who accompany their child during hospitalization. The groups consisted of 10 mothers from different ethnic groups: Macedonian, Albanian and Gypsy. The groups are led by a psychologist, DiplGPTIM and supported with a doctor and nurse when necessary. In groups the mothers learn more about illness, and how to be with each other, helping and supporting themselves and their child. Naming the problem means starting the winning journey. With a short theoretical background we are presenting some video insets from the key moments of some sessions.
