Never before could psychological Counseling reach a global and international scope as it has reached today due to the wide spread of Internet and other technological devices. Is Cyber Counseling possible? If yes, what are its obstacles? What are the advantages and constraints?
Islamonline.net has launched such a "Cyber Counseling" service three and half years ago to make use of the internet's privacy and secrecy, interactivity and suitability to conservative communities.
The "Cyber Counseling" page aimed since day one at providing all visitors with a psycho-social counseling service that is professional, culture sensitive, practical, applicable, confidential as well as personal.
Over 1000 inquiries from all over the world were sent by followers of different faiths and have been publicly and sometimes privately answered. A very long list of diverse issues has been deeply, culture sensitively covered: Addiction, interfaith marital issues, self-development, identity crisis, homosexuality are just to mention some. |
