The research aims to highlight "Taer Al Sumber project" for discovering gifted children and assuring their care in Al Kubs schools in Khartoum. This is a longitudinal study of 25 years. In this project the first advanced workshop was organized in Sudan. 43 teachers learned how to detect gifted children and how to provide care for them. In fact 30 gifted children were discovered (21 females and 9 males) through a list of features that included: 1st IQ level, 2nd academic performance, 3rd math grades and 4th Creativity level. These children represent 6% of a total of 480 children in the school. By applying these acquired skills from the workshop, the first summer camp for gifted children was organized to prepare a leading generation, as a major goal for Al Kubs schools. In general the gifted children's response was not ordinary for this camp. This response reflected in many dreams and promises for discoveries and inventions. In the future it is predicted to apply Taer Al Sumber project on the rest of Sudan schools, when the experience in Al Kubs schools is mature enough. |
