School psychology and the peace issue

Copy Due to the destructive effects of wars left on human societies, it became a must to refer to peace as rational solution to the war issue. The modern orientation in peace issue has to use Psychology and to consider it as an effective tool in peace realization in all its forms. This is why the researcher presented this theoretical research that aims to contribute in this international issue, by pointing out the role that school can play in supporting the realization of peace process and its continuation. The study focuses also on the possibility to include some peace concepts in school curriculums, such as the topic of conflicts resolution, and the possibility to use the school environment to sensitize its members on specific personality characteristics that help forming members who call for peace and work on it. The descriptive method was used, and the tools of the study were international research operated on peace Psychology, some of which were theoretical and others were practical. The results pointed out that the psychologists' efforts on the peace issue are fruitful and encouraging. The study recommends the necessity to involve the role of the school in contributing in the peace process.
