Role of the family in social development

Copy The family has an important role in social development through the integration of the child in the general cultural environment, by introducing the cultural heritage in his personality, and teaching him behavior models that correspond to the society where he belongs.

This study clarifies the role of the family in this process by showing some of the basic characteristics that are used to accomplish this process. The study focused on the different factors that affect the social development such as the economical level of the family, the family environment, the importance of the presence of the parents, and the behavior patterns that are accompanied in the process of social change. The study showed the important role of social institution in social development process.

The study used the descriptive analytical method and previous statistical reports and studies on the topic. The research concluded that the family has a primary role in social development, and that the social institution plays a complementary role to the families. The study concluded also that the method used in educating the child determines mainly his future behavior and conduct.
