Wars have deep consequences that reach many different sides of life. This affects the personality and the member's equilibrium living in these continuous violent circumstances. Lebanon has witnessed many kinds of violence during a quarter of a century that has lead to deep scars. These scars were studied yet as they should be and that were not recognized in order to control their results.
Compared to the violence spread in the west and to the family disintegration that we see and hear about in news and on TV, are known as a nonviolent population. What we ignore is that we recognize this violence by prohibiting it and controlling it and not the opposite. Whereas in our countries and I can speak about Lebanon's case, the family violence is spreading but in silence and denial. Therefore the absence of violence on screens doesn't imply an absence in reality. This is my hypothesis for this level. My hypothesis has evolved through my work and my supervision on students' case studies that they do in their psychology education. Every time a case of sexual violence is discovered in the family it is "covered" and the case to be studied disappears if it is not followed by an organization.
Therefore, I will try to explain this situation through the study of one case or more in an attempt to highlight the factors contributing to the emergence of sexual violence within the family from the personal predisposition on the one hand, and the accumulation of factors resulting from war (ex. Displacement) on the others. |
