Copy To analyze the smile of terrorists Achmad Mubarok Western people have been confused trying to analyze the Iran Revolution that was led by a very old man, Ayatullah Khumainy. He was successful in overthrowing Syah Reza Pahlevi, the puppet of America. This confusion was caused by the lack of Western psychology to analyze Iranians.

Psychology has traditionally meant Western psychology, using the assumption that human universals (generalizations about human activity and experience) hold true for human kind because they hold true in Western Society. But it is another opinion that Psychology can be defined as psychological knowledge that is native, that is not transported from another region, and that is designed for its people. In other words, psychology is an understanding rooted in particular with a cultural context.

In the beginning of the 21st century, again, Western people have been confused trying to understand "the terrorist" who was so relaxed and smiled when the judge sentenced him to death, He is Amrozi. The question that has never been answered is. Is there any relation between Religion and Terrorist Acts? Most American public perceive Islam as Terrorist; even, one newspaper belonging to a church accused the prophet Muhammad as a terrorist figure. The Moslem majority in the world are against terrorism, and they also do not understand the way of thinking of Amrozi.

Islamic Indigenous Psychology can analyze the question. Why do people like Amrozi perform terrorism against America? Actually, this psychology also can be used to predict the behavior of them, as well as to control their behavior. Unfortunately, the Indonesian Government where Amrozi lives does not apply this type of Psychology. The Government uses precisely Western psychology to analyze them resulting in the wrong analysis. Moreover, the Government seem to have contributed to fertilizing terrorism in Indonesia.

Globalization and its negative impacts can lead weak people to be strong people in order to resist against superpower countries. It is a very contradictive description that Amrozi and his friends are having very simple and soft personality in their daily life and family as well as in their social life, but they are recognized as the most dangerous terrorist in the world. Also it is very obvious that they are very silly – in the case of the Bali Bombings – as they cannot make differences between America and Australia. It leads one question. Is Amrozi an offender or one of the victims of global terrorism? Wallohu a'lam bi al sawab.
