16th century - An outstanding figure of humanist movement in Croatia Marko Marulić in his thesis/tractate "PSYCHOLOGIA DE RATIONE ANIMAE HUMANAE” had been the first scholar in the world to propose the notion psychology for "science of human soul”
1920 - In the Physiological Institute of the Medical Faculty of University of Zagreb, through the initiative of Ramiro Bujas (b. 1879 – d. 1959), a Laboratory for experimental psychology was established
1929 - Department of Psychology and Institute of Psychology founded at the University of Zagreb
1931 - A professional orienteering service unit set up in Zagreb - rise of applied psychology
1932 - Appearance of the first psychological journal “ACTA INSTITUTI PSYCHOLOGICI UNIVERSITATIS ZAGRABIENSIS”
1953 - Croatian Psychological Society founded
1978 - another department of psychology founded - at the Zadar Faculty of Philosophy
1980 - a new department of psychology - at the Rijeka Faculty of Philosophy
1991 - Department of Military Psychology established as a unit of Information and Psychological Service Division of the Ministry of Defence
1991 - 1995 - over 200 psychologists took part in the Homeland Defense War as unit psychologists
2003 Croatian Parliament passed the Act on Psychological Practice, based on which Croatian Psychological Chamber was founded in later months that year.
