Professor Satoshi Usami, University of Tokyo, Japan
Satoshi Usami received his PhD in 2012 from the University of Tokyo (Japan) in 2012. He is a quantitative psychologist with a strong background in modelling and simulation. In addition to his outstanding achievements in psychometrics, especially in the field of longitudinal data analysis, he has also developed novel and innovative applications of the methods for psychological, epidemiological and behavioural science problems. Satoshi Usami has collaborated with many researchers from various disciplines including psychology, education, epidemiology and medical science, and has published more than 60 papers in both statistical and applied journals. The Jury is of the opinion that his work has had a significant impact on the field, opening a new avenue for future research on longitudinal modelling across a variety of different disciplines.
