Dr. Randal Tonks is an Instructor at Camosun College in Victoria, Canada, where he teaches courses in Cultural, Health, and Music psychology. He is past Chair of the International and Cross-Cultural Psychology section of the Canadian Psychological Association and has served on the Canadian Psychological Association International Relations Committee for nearly 20 years. He has been researching identity development in cultural contexts for over 25 years where his research continues to examine the role of acculturation on identity formation along with its impacts on health and adjustment for immigrants and sojourners. In recent years he has examined profiles of stress experienced among immigrant youth and international students, including the experiences of Canadians studying abroad and those studying in Canada along with a Cross-cultural study on music and our sense of home. His Recent publications includes a review of Yoga Psychology in Self Transformations in Indian and Western Psychology, as well as Changing self in the digital age: The impact of digital technology on the self and person.
