National Membership in the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS)

The International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) is composed of National Members, with no more than one National Member representing any single country. An organisation may be admitted as a National Member of IUPsyS if it meets one of the following criteria: it is a regularly established National Society of Psychology, a coalition of national psychological societies, or, alternatively, a national academy of sciences, national research council, or a similar body representing the discipline of psychology within that country.

For the purposes of membership, the term country is understood to include dominions, protectorates, and non-autonomous territories where independent scientific activity in psychology has been developed. Federated states are regarded as single countries in this context (IUPsyS Statutes, Article 9, Section II).

Becoming a National Member

Organisations seeking to become a National Member of IUPsyS must submit a formal application in accordance with the Statutes and Rules of Procedure. Each National Member’s year of election to membership is recorded by the Union.

IUPsyS does not have individual members. However any individual may join our mailing list to receive by email our Bulletin. Please contact the Secretariat and ask to join the mailing list.
