The Federation comprises two associations: the German Psychological Society / Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychologie (website www.dgps.de), representing those who conduct psychological research, and the Association of German Professional Psychologists / Berufsverband Deutscher Psychologinnen und Psychologen (website www.bdp-verband.org), representing practitioners. In even-numbered years, the presidency of the Federation is under the Association of German Professional Psychologists; in odd-numbered years it is under the German Psychological Society.
