ARUPS Executive Committee Meeting, February 2026

The ARUPS Executive Committee met at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from 6–8 February 2026 for a period of reflection, open dialogue, and strategic planning.

The meeting marked an important step in strengthening regional collaboration, with ARUPS establishing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) framework to support partnerships with universities across the region. The MoA provides a flexible platform for capacity building, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives in education, research, and professional development that are responsive to ASEAN contexts and priorities.

Discussions also focused on how ARUPS can continue to expand its presence and activities in meaningful and practical ways, with a shared commitment to supporting national psychological associations and societies throughout the ASEAN region.

Importantly, the meeting created space for open and constructive exchanges on the regulation of psychology across member countries. Participants reflected on achievements, ongoing challenges, and opportunities for mutual learning. These discussions reinforced the value of regional collaboration, recognising the diversity of national contexts while fostering a shared commitment to advancing psychology across ASEAN.

The Executive Committee extends its sincere appreciation to the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, for its generous hospitality and support in hosting the meeting.
